Aug. 17, 2013 — The team of Jojo Espiritu, Lou Madamba and Mike Manalo won the month’s DLS Greens 2013 Tour tournament held today at the Johnny Miller-designed Bridges Golf Club in San Ramon.This month’s competition used the 1-2-4 best ball format wherein everyone in the 4-man teams played their own balls and also had their net scores on all the par 3s counted. The Espiritu-Madamba-Manalo team scored 166 points to beat by two strokes the team composed of Andy Litton, Nutsie Maloles, Manny Noguera and Clem Yu.
The day’s low gross score bragging rights went to Tom Consunji, who shot 11-over par 83 at the challenging 6,123 yard and 139 slope-rated course. There was no closest-to-the-pin award.
Jojo, Lou and Mike all qualify for the Tournament of Champions to be held at the conclusion of the 2013 golf tour at Pleasanton’s Callippe Golf Club.
NEXT TOURNAMENT: The 9th Annual Fil-Am Golf Championship on Saturday Sept. 21 at Shadow Lakes Golf Course in Brentwood. $100 entry fee includes green fee, cart and dinner buffet. 12:30p shotgun start.
