September 28, 2013 — Tom Consunji won the 9th edition of the DLSAANC Fil-Am Golf Championship held today at Shadow Lakes Golf Course in Brentwood by scoring the day’s lowest gross score. Tom posted an 82 despite five three-putts in the recently-tined greens to win the club’s annual fundraiser.
Twenty-eight alumni and their guests teed-up a week after the original date of the tournament was rained-out. Clem Yu easily won Division A with a net 4-under 68. At even par was runner-up Matt Hizon. In Division B,Nani Ramirez had a net 66, three strokes better than 2nd placer Jim Feyzbakhsh. The Callaway Division was won my Jay Ambrosio with a net 74.
Matt Hizon missed being this year’s Fil-Am Champion by a stroke but won two of the closest-to-the-pin prizes (# 7 and #17). Tony Colmenares and Jim Feyzbashsh won the other two closest-to-the-pin holes at #4 and #14, respectively.
The golfers enjoyed a buffet dinner after their round. Several won raffle prizes, including golf balls, club towels and a putter.
