Dear Alumni,

I also would like to take this opportunity to announce the arrival of our dear Br. Bernie Oca in a few weeks. He will be here to promote the DLSU coffee table book. My apologies but it was pure coincidence that this book launch will coincide with our very own. Not to confuse with our Centennial Yearbook. I hope you can dig a bit deeper and help support this worthy project.About the DLSU Coffee Table Book:

The Future Begins Here is the official centennial coffee table book of DLSU published to celebrate its 100th year milestone. It was conceptualized as a publication that would best express the spirit of the University – that of an ever young, dynamic, bold, and unique educational institution that keeps pace with the changing times while being true to the original ideals of its Founder, St. John Baptiste de La Salle.

The authors of its nine chapters, heavyweights in their respective fields and mostly Lasallians, are:

Isagani Cruz
Prologue and Epilogue

Jose “Butch” Dalisay
Band of Brothers

Augusto Villalon
Heritage, Heroism, History: the St. La Salle Hall

Elfren Cruz and Leandro Cruz Movers of Growth and Progress: Lasallians in Business
and The Lasallian Public Servant

Joaquin Henson
Shooting for Excellence in Sports

Renato de Castro
Social Sciences and Education in DLSU

Alvin Culaba
On the Cutting Edge: Science and Technology

Carla Pacis
Arts and Culture in the Lasallian Spirit

Charlson Ong
La Salle’s Green Champions

The 320-page hardbound book, rich in imagery, excellent prose and novelties, seamlessly marries the past to the present to the future. The book is dedicated to the thousands of alumni who have crossed DLSU’s hallowed halls and now bring honor to its alma mater. All net proceeds from the sale of the DLSU Centennial Coffeetable Book will benefit the One La Salle Scholarship Fund. You may wish to check this link to their FB page:

The plan is to hold a book launch on April 24th, Tuesday, and depending on the number of attendees, we hope to find a large enough venue to accommodate everyone. I believe Br. Bernie has a few batchmates based in the Bay Area too. I’m sure it will be a real treat to have a mini “get together” as part of the welcoming party. I will email again in the next few days for additional information, like Price per copy, Time and Venue. I thank you again for your continued support and I look forward to seeing you all in our events to come.

Yours in Saint La Salle,
